A junior rugby tour should be about more than simply turning up, playing a match and heading home. It should be an experience that brings players, coaches and families together while creating memories that last long after the final whistle.
That is exactly what our Mini & Junior Rugby Festivals are designed to do.
At Burleigh Travel, we bring together competitive rugby, new opponents, exciting activities, team-building, social opportunities and quality time away from home. From U7s through to junior age groups, our UK festivals provide clubs with an exciting and well-organised way to experience rugby on tour.
Rugby, Friendship and Plenty of Fun
Rugby is always at the centre of our festivals, giving teams the opportunity to face opposition they may not normally encounter and experience the competitive but friendly atmosphere of a rugby festival.
However, the tour experience continues long after the games finish.
Many of our festivals are hosted at holiday parks or activity centres, where players can enjoy activities, shared meals, evening entertainment and plenty of time together. These experiences help turn a weekend of rugby into a genuine team adventure.
And very often, it is the moments away from the pitch that players talk about for years afterwards.
Discover New Teams and New Rugby Experiences
One of the biggest attractions of a rugby festival tour is meeting clubs from different areas and backgrounds.
Players have the chance to make new friends, experience different styles of rugby and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere that makes grassroots rugby so special.
For coaches, festivals can also be a great opportunity to build relationships with other clubs, while players can mix socially with teams they have just competed against.
It is rugby with a strong social side – exactly what a tour should be about.
Strengthen Your Team Away From the Pitch
A tour offers something that a normal training session simply cannot.
Travelling together, sharing meals, taking part in activities and spending a full weekend as a team gives players the chance to build friendships and develop confidence away from their usual surroundings.
These shared experiences can strengthen team spirit and create stronger bonds between teammates.
Feedback from our festivals regularly highlights how much players value the social and team-building side of the weekend, which is why we believe it is such an important part of a successful junior rugby tour.
A Safe and Well-Organised Experience
Organising a tour for young players comes with plenty to consider, particularly when it comes to safety, logistics and organisation.
All our Mini & Junior Rugby Festivals are RFU approved, helping ensure that they are delivered in line with the governing body’s guidelines.
With more than 30 years of experience organising sports tours, Burleigh Travel also handles the arrangements behind the scenes, allowing clubs to enjoy the experience without having to organise every individual element themselves.
